You made sure you were good
For you wanted gifts under the tree
For if you weren't good
You would get a big LUMP OF COAL
We as children all feared that
All you ever thought about was good old St. Nicholas
Imagined a Jolly man in Jolly red suit
Baked Christmas Cookies
I would set out fresh cookies & milk
For him to eat
When Christmas morning came
Gifts would surround the tree
For your face would light up at the sight
The good old Christmas .

Church bell's ring,
Ringing from all over the town,
Church Choirs sing his name,

Lord of all, Warm Loving Heart,
Glory in the highest,
With heavenly rule,

Christmas Cookies are tasty and sweet,
freshly baked from your oven.
Made with love from your mother,

they are very well enjoyed.
My family eats them up;
cookies are my favorite Christmas snack,

put on a platter, together
in several places in my house,
for anyone to take.

Everyone picks them up,
no matter if they are on a diet,
For it is the time of the year.

My ancestors  sailed to a new country, here
Germany, the place they came to live & win

For it was a long journey to our land
For it was well worth it to live new and fresh
It was time to start a new life and be grand

It was not easy, but very difficult
For it was the land of opportunity
It was definitely not like a weird cult

You worked to get higher in society
Unlike today, people not trying to work
There is no such a thing as acting piety

America, land of equal shot at life
For people have become lazy and don't strive .
